Kitchen: KDS & printers
Tickets where the cooks are — screens, printers, or both.
Set up the Kitchen Display
The Kitchen Display (KDS) is included on every plan — free Lite too. Any tablet, spare iPad, or TV browser becomes a live kitchen screen that shows register, phone, and online tickets together — no printer required.
- 1In Settings → Printing & tickets, turn on Send register sales to the Kitchen Display so walk-up tickets show on the screen.
- 2In Settings → Online ordering, turn on Auto-send online & phone orders to the Kitchen Display so web and phone orders land on it too — leave it off to hold them in the Online orders queue until you tap Send to KDS on each one.
- 3On the kitchen tablet, open Kitchen display from the register's top bar, then in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen to install it as its own full-screen TableTurnKDS app.
- 4Open it on the screen by the line and pick the station it covers (Grill, Fry, Bar…) or Expo to see everything.

Routing each station to its own screen (grill vs. bar vs. expo) is a Pro feature — on Lite and Lite+, every ticket shows on one shared kitchen screen.
Kitchen Display (KDS)
- 1Open the KDS from the register's top bar on any tablet or screen (Add to Home Screen for a dedicated station).
- 2Pick a station (Grill, Fry, Bar…) or Expo to see everything.
- 3Tickets show items grouped by course with seat badges; each table is ONE ticket — new courses append to it.
- 4Tap Done as items complete; Recall brings back the last completed ticket; All-day shows totals per item.

Fire on the KDS
When the register fires a course, the table's ticket blinks red with a FIRE banner — tap it to acknowledge. The KDS is a live display, so the alert lands on the existing ticket rather than printing a new one.
Kitchen printers
TableTurn prints to Star CloudPRNT printers over the internet — no print server. Set each printer's role (Receipts, Kitchen, or Both) and kitchen copies under Printers.
Wi-Fi direct printing: give a printer its local IP address on the Printers page and receipts print in about a second straight over your Wi-Fi — the cloud queue stays as an automatic backup (and still handles online orders). Tablet and printer must be on the same network without guest isolation; visit https://<printer-ip> once per tablet to accept its certificate.
If test prints come out as plain unformatted text with no cut, switch that printer's language to ESC/POS on the Printers page — logos, bold, layout, and paper cuts all come back.
Kitchen tickets group by course, show [Seat N] and allergy/seating tags, and honor your layout settings (font size, top space for the rail, item spacing).
Fire slips print separately: “FIRE COURSE 2”, or the course plus its items — your choice in settings.
Routing by station
Assign menu categories (or individual items) to stations so drinks hit the bar printer and food hits the kitchen — the same routing drives which KDS station shows each item.
